My partner and I wrapped up August with a never-before-tried kind of adventure for us. We took a commercial bus tour, my first ever, to visit some of what were said to be Chicago’s best sights. After arriving in Chicago, our day started with a 90-minute narrated boat tour to view the architectural marvels along the Chicago River. After that, it was lunch at the Chicago Hard Rock Cafe. We finished our adventure with an afternoon visit to the Chicago Botanic Garden, also a first for me. We had perfect late summer weather for the outing. Come along with me to see what my photographer’s eyes thought to be worthy of saving and sharing with you.
Chicago Architecture Boat Tour
Passage aboard the M/V Chicago’s First Lady provided an unparalleled opportunity to view the magnificent skyscrapers that tower over the Chicago River.
Chicago Hard Rock Cafe
In another first for me, our group stopped for lunch at the Chicago Hard Rock Cafe.
Chicago Botanic Garden
This trip also brought my first-ever visit to the 350-acre Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe. This spectacular attraction celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. We took a narrated tram tour around the perimeter of the garden, but time did not permit an in-depth visit. We’ll definitely be back!
Beautiful post, Phil!
