October often brings fog to our area as the air and water temperatures mix in proper proportions. This afternoon heavy fog rolled in from Lake Michigan, enveloping the shoreline at least a mile inland. Most of Port Washington was shrouded in the fog.
At times like this, I like to venture out with my camera. Today I headed out, hoping to photograph the Port Washington pierhead lighthouse in the fog. Unfortunately, the fog was so thick over the lake that the lighthouse was completely hidden. Scratch that idea!
That didn’t mean that that there was nothing of photographic interest. I walked around the harbor and came up with the scenes you see in the gallery below.
