Another weekend, another adventure with my art-loving partner. A nice Saturday in June took us into the North Kettle Moraine region of southeast Wisconsin to visit several venues featured in the annual Northern Moraine Spring Art Tour. As usual, today’s outing presented another banquet of images which found their way into my camera’s viewfinder.
Old Town Hall Studio & Gallery
Our first stop was the Old Town Hall Studio & Gallery located in the small town of Belgium, Wisconsin. While normally regarded as the center of Luxembourger culture in Wisconsin, Belgium is also home to this small building which houses a nice collection of artwork.
Eagle Feather Artisan
Passing through the lakeside town of Random Lake, we moved on to Eagle Feather Artisan in a rural area west of town. Artistic sculptures of animals, birds, and other creatures are exhibited here. Here a skillful artist wielding a chain saw turns sections of huge maple and ash logs into works of art. Other pieces included beautiful wood coffee tables and American flags crafted out of wood.
Silver Creek Pottery & Forge
Our final stop on today’s Art Tour was Silver Creek Pottery & Forge, a studio gallery featuring handcrafted pottery by Sylvia Mondloch and forged ironworks by Mark Mondloch. Whimsical ceramic creatures lurk all over the grounds. Many of them are mounted on stands created in the nearby forge.
Delightful! Thanks, Phil.
